Excursions
Turkey is quite a big place and so a tour of the entire country will certainly take a large number of days. There are many kinds of tour packages – the longer ones include the whole of Turkey while the shorter ones would be excursions for specific cities like Istanbul or even special interest tours like bird watching, religious tours, handicrafts tours, Anatolian village tours, sports tours, etc.
In Turkey
To get a wonderful glimpse of what the whole of Turkey is about, the 15 day Grand Tour is the most highly recommended. This tour starts with Istanbul, including an extended sightseeing of the city which includes the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and the Topkapi Palace. From Istanbul, the tour moves on to Izmir and Kusadasi where the Ephesus Tour begins. This includes visiting Ephesus, which is a conglomeration of the Greek and Roman cultures. The House of Virgin Mary is a part of this tour. From Ephesus, the other places within the tour include Didyma, Miletos, Priene, Pergamum, Pamukkale and then on to Antalya, which is definitely one of the most eagerly awaited tourist destinations within Turkey.

Suggestions
The tour spends four days in Antalya, where people can visit on their own for a day, and on the next day are taken to the city of Perge, the Biblical city of the Hittites, and then go onwards to Aspendos, an ancient preserved theater that is still used today. Another attraction here is the Kursunlu Waterfall.

Cappadocia is the next destination which includes tourist attractions of the Pasabagi (Monk's Valley), the Goreme Open Air Museum, Esentepe and Uchisar. You can also visit the underground city of Derinkuyu and go on to visit the Ihlara Valley and Selime with a stopover at the Agzikarahan Caravanserai.
After Cappadocia, you return to Istanbul, where you visit the Bosporus area for a day and next day return to the airport for your homeward journey.
