Weather
Turkey lies in the most beautiful climatic region of the world – the Mediterranean Climate Region. This is a lovely climatic belt where the summers are never too hot and the winters are never too cold. It is just the climate that a person would look forward to on a holiday. It is true that Turkish people rarely perspire because of this climate, and that they can work for longer hours than people of most other countries.
In Turkey
Generally, the Turkish climate is highlighted by hot and dry summers and wet and cold winters, especially at the maritime areas. There is little rain throughout the year, and in the interior lands of Konya and Malatya, both plain lands, the rainfall is quite abysmal. Temperatures on the coastal lands are much habitable and especially loved by tourists, but the interior lands can have extreme climates. Here, winters can go very harsh and there might be snowfall for over four continuous months. For this reason, tourists generally avoid the central plateau regions of Turkey, which is the Anatolian Plateau.

More Info
Plan your Turkey visit in the months of spring and autumn, since the other months would be too harsh in the interior regions. During these months, you can enjoy the best of the Mediterranean climates and even visit Anatolia Plateau which will have a mild cool climate. It is safest to travel here between the months of July to the beginning weeks of September, because that is when even the Turks are in a lovely holidaying mood. Istanbul is the only city that can be visited in the winter months too, but the rest of Turkey would not be quite inviting because of the snow, especially in the eastern Turkey region.
